Kindle Fire Love Affair
How many of you out there are in love with a device? Be honest . . .I know there are some of you who are too smart and wise to get hooked up with a device -- I am proud that you found your way to my blog -- but chances are, some of you who are reading my blog, ARE in a deep relationship with an object that doesn't need DNA sequencing.
Is your device always within your reach? Sure, it's your phone. It's important to have your phone near you at all times. I get that. Stand to the left, your device attachment is practical.
Don't be ashamed
Now what about those of you with tablets: iPads, Kindles, etc. Do you keep those devices always in reach? Yes? Is there any part of your day that you spend without your device? Don't be ashamed, you are among friends. All right, trick question, the whole purpose of a tablet is the portability, right?. You are supposed to be able to carry it where ever you go.
However, let me ask you this: at what point does carrying around a device turn into a relationship? And, at what point does that relationship turn into a love affair?
Yes, I am still talking about a device. Come on, you know it happens. If it hasn't happened to you, it has happened to someone you know.
Crazy in love with fantastic features
At this point in my post I thought I would list for you the fantastic features of the Kindle Fire HD and after describing these features, you would understand that I am not crazy for being in love with a device. I mean, how could I not be in love with something so fantastic, right?
But love is a relative thing. For example, I subscribe to Amazon Prime so I get access to the Amazon Music Library and Amazon Prime videos. I also subscribe to Kindle unlimited, so I get access to thousands of books to download. These things make my Kindle Fire quite handsome and charming. Your device might be plain and simple with just Hulu, Netflix or maybe Pandora. You might just want to be friends with your device. Consequently, not every friendship turns into a love affair.
Productivity increased - what's not to love?
My Kindle Fire HD love affair grows stronger every day because my productivity increases more and more. I now keep my to-do list on it; I send and receive my email; I keep track of my Facebook page; I get some of my shopping done; and, I surf the internet for my blog research.
I can't tell you the moment that it happened; but, I am in love with my Kindle Fire HD. We go everywhere together. My laptop is jealous but what can I say? My laptop is heavy and doesn't fit so nicely into my purse like my Kindle Fire HD.
Emily Dickinson once said:
“The Heart wants what it wants - or else it does not care”
Do you think if Emily were alive today, she would fall in love with a device such as a Kindle Fire HD? Or, would she be sensible and exclude anything without DNA from being her object of affection?
I'd love to know what you think
